It’s no secret that Facebook has revised its privacy settings a few times. And just when you think you have it down to a science, you realize that someone can view your photos or wall posts that weren’t intended for their eyes. Check out these 5 tips to protect your privacy once and for all (or at least until they change again!)

• Lists are your friend - To alleviate the need for multiple Facebook accounts, you can create lists for the different groups of people in your life (ie: work, friends, family etc.). To do it: click “Home” ->“Friends” (on the left hand side bar) -> “+Create a List” -> name it and start selecting friends for the list. When you post on your wall, add photos etc. you can select the lists of friends who can view it. You can have as many lists as you like.
• Block lists have their place - You should know that you can choose to block anyone on Facebook by either their email address or their name. Simply click on “Account” -> “Privacy Settings” ->“Block Lists” to start.

• Control your App-etite - Keep your Farmville addiction private or any other applications you may use. Click on the “Account” tab -> “Privacy” -> “Edit your settings” at the bottom left. The Game and application activity can control what updates you post to who.

• What’s the 411? – Control the info you share by clicking “Account” -> “Privacy” -> “Application & Websites (edit settings)” -> “Info Accessible Through Your Friends”, you can edit several pieces of info from this window.

• Dot your i’s and cross your t’s – To ensure your new settings are correct, Facebook allows you to preview your settings as any friend or registered user. To get there, click “Account”, then “Privacy” then “view settings” at the top, click the “Preview your Profile” button and type in a friend’s name.
