Old appliance, what is an old appliance? lol My 14 year old son and 63 year old father fix everything. They even visit the dump once a week (at least) looking for pieces they need to make something whole and work again. But, if something does not turn new again they take it to scrap.
I found a local man through Freecycle.com that salvages and repairs broken electronics. He then donates them to a local domestic violence center. They don’t go to a landfill they go to a good cause.

I don’t think we get rid of anything!
It’s sitting in the garage, attic or closets.
We just hate to get rid of things, even if we don’t
use them anymore. You just never know when you might have
a need for it.
If we come across someone who wants it, we will give it
away.
freecycle baby….and ebay….I auctioned off three old school super nintendos, all broken…and made a couple of bucks…it was junk….but another man’s treasure…
Since we are serious electronics junkies, we usually have not only our old stuff, but everyone else,s when they get new stuff. My husband fixes the things back up if possible, and then we give them (old computers, phones, mp3 players) to people who don’t have them.
I usually use them till they fall apart, and usually I try to fix them if they do stop working. Another great way to pass on items that still work is freecycle
broken, they get trashed.
still working, I try to find someone to give them away to. but I have an old 13″ computer monitor that I can’t seem to give away (put up for free on craigs list)
@stigay
For me I look at all of my electronics as a yearly service that becomes more expensive as time goes on. When it comes time to discontinue my service I’ll first place my item on craigslist and if it doesn’t sell then I’ll donate it. If the item is broken, then I may try to sell it on ebay as parts or find a way to recycle the item.
– some of the items we’ve taken apart for art projects
– Some of the items we’ve repaired until they couldn’t be used anymore and then thown away or recycled – trying not to send toxics to our Waste-to-Energy Incinerator
–We donate usable items
I recycle anything and everything that I can otherwise I donate good working conditions items to Good Will or give to someone in need. Some of our computer electronics etc. have been given to our teenage son and his friends. They are in a ROV (Remotely operated Vehicle) class and they break down components and reuse them in their projects for their class. They also take apart and rebuild computers etc.

I recycle everything I can.
Thanks for the chance!

Either I donate them to Goodwill or I recycle them or trade them in when I buy something new.
Generally donate to good will or Freecycle them, but sometimes I keep them. Pack them in a box and put it away……
donated, recycled or shoved on the basement…lol
Donate to local charities.
Usually donate
They are all sitting in the garage. THanks for the best buy info, will take it to one of their stores soon. Have agreat weekend all!

recycle them by building other computers from the spare parts and sell them.
I always take my old (working) appliances to Goodwill.. We have a wonderful recycle center that will take my broken appliances for free.. So I am set.
My old appliances end up in the trash after having been drained of every possible drop of usefulness.
I usually use them till they fall apart, and usually I try to fix them if they do stop working. Another great way to pass on items that still work is freecycle
end up in a closet until I part them out
I usually recycle what can be done or pass it to someone that can use it.
DESTROY THEM!
Recycling is good and all, but you can’t tell me you don’t enjoy taking your old electronics out back for a good Office Space style smashing.
broken, they get trashed.

@stigay
I try to recycle them or donate them to a second-hand shop if they’re still usable.
I give some to Goodwill and I give the rest to friends and family.
I give them away.
I pass them along to family.
I donate to Goodwill
We Donate them To The Military..

We just dropped some stuff off at the High School. They were doing a recycling fundraiser – drop off as much as you want with a $10 donation

I keep using my electronics until they break then I throw them away.
donate, give to friends, freecycle, some do get trashed
I pay a recycling center to dispose of my old, unusable electronics. Anything in working order goes to community thrift stores.
There is a place at the landfill for old electronics. I pass them on to other people, too. And donate.
Some are donated, some recycled, and some sadly sit in a box in the basement thinking that someday I may have use for them again.
I keep them in a box just in case I ever need them or any parts of them.
Sell, donate, recycle … It depends on what it is and what I can do to salvage it.
Usually donate.
I recycle or donate just depends on what it is
goodwill,freecycle,recycle
Handed down or donated
still have all my old electronics and what to get rid of the the right way.
